Since 1980, Make-A-Wish has been granting individually tailored Wishes to children with critical illnesses. When our oldest child Rebecca was battling cancer in 2016, she was granted a Wish. Our family saw first-hand a Wish’s positive power on a sick child. After her Wish, Rebecca was so moved that she spoke at several fundraisers to raise funds that would help grant Wishes to other children. She wanted all children with critical illnesses to experience the power of a Wish.

After Rebecca passed away in 2017, we started the Rebecca Buchanan Brimmage Foundation (RallyWithRebecca.org) to continue Rebecca’s legacy of supporting the causes closest to her, including Make-A-Wish. With the donations from so many who transitioned from “Rallying For Rebecca” to “Rallying With Rebecca,” the Foundation has been supporting Wishes for critically ill children. 

Marty now serves as Secretary of the Board of Directors for Make-A-Wish North Texas. We have also agreed to co-chair Wish Night 2026, Make-A-Wish North Texas’ main annual fundraising event. We promise that Wish Night is unlike any other charity fundraising event. The event brings hope-filled Wish stories, a community united in purpose to bring brightness to critically ill children, and a celebration that will leave you and those around you feeling the power of hope. 

Our goal is simple: raise as much money as possible to be able to grant as many Wishes as possible to children with critical illnesses. We invite you to join us for Wish Night 2026 by making a tax-deductible donation to the Foundation (100% of which will go to the Wish Night 2026 gift) and the Brimmage Family will match your donation dollar for dollar up through April 30.  

Unfortunately, the resources available to Make-A-Wish North Texas have fallen well short of what is needed to keep up with the demand for Wishes. Today, more than 1,100 children with critical illnesses in North Texas are waiting for their Wishes. Many will wait as long as two years without your help, including some whose conditions do not afford them the time to wait.
